Second-Story Home Addition In Progress Elmhurst, IL

Home addition in progress with new second-story framing, rebuilt front porch, and exterior structural work

This project was a major structural addition where we took an existing brick home and expanded it upward with a full second-story build while also rebuilding the front porch. A big part of the job was making the new work look like it belonged on the original house, so we focused on tying the rooflines together, carrying the proportions correctly, and keeping the front elevation balanced instead of making the addition feel top-heavy. At this stage you can see the new upper level framed and sheathed, along with the new porch structure, stairs, and railings taking shape. This was the kind of project that required careful planning from the structure out, because the goal was not just to add square footage, but to make the finished home feel cohesive, solid, and properly built from the ground up.
